Belfast International Airport (BFS), at Aldergrove in County Antrim, is Northern Ireland's main airport, run by Vinci Airports. All flights use one terminal on two levels: departures and the gates are upstairs, and arrivals, baggage claim and the car rental desks are on the ground floor.
Flights from Great Britain and elsewhere in the Common Travel Area arrive without routine passport control; flights from outside it go through UK passport control first. After baggage claim you walk through customs into the arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Northern Ireland is on Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0) and switches to British Summer Time (UTC+1) from late March to late October. It uses the pound sterling.
UK ETA. Most visitors who do not need a visa for the UK, including EU, US and Canadian citizens, must hold a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before flying; British and Irish citizens do not need one. Check the rules for your nationality before you fly.
