Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) is in the Borgo Panigale area on the northwest edge of Bologna and is the main airport of Emilia-Romagna. All flights use one terminal, with Schengen flights in Area A and non-Schengen flights in Area B. Every gate is a bus gate, so a bus takes you from the aircraft to the terminal.
From outside the Schengen Area you pass passport control before baggage reclaim; flights from Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. Baggage reclaim is on the arrivals level, and you walk out into the arrivals hall on the ground floor.
Bologna is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to summer time (UTC+2) from late March to late October.
