Nadi International Airport (NAN) is the main international gateway to Fiji, serving the town of Nadi and the resort areas of western Viti Levu. About 97 percent of Fiji's international travelers arrive here, and it is the hub of Fiji Airways, which flies to Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Asia and North America. Air New Zealand, Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia add flights from Auckland and Australian cities, and smaller carriers link Nadi with Nouméa, Port Moresby, Honiara and Nauru.
The airport has an international terminal and a domestic terminal a short walk apart. Fiji Link flights to Suva, Labasa, Savusavu, Taveuni and other islands, and charter flights to island resorts, leave from the domestic side.
The airport stands in Namaka, about 10 km north of Nadi town and 20 km south of Lautoka. Denarau Island, with its resorts and Port Denarau Marina, is about 14 km away, usually a 20 to 25 minute drive. Port Denarau is where ferries leave for the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands. The Coral Coast is about two hours south by road, and Suva, the capital, about three and a half hours away on the other side of Viti Levu.

Fill in the Fiji Passenger Arrival Card on the plane; every traveler needs one, children included, and you keep it for immigration and biosecurity. Visitors from many countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, receive a visitor permit on arrival, and your passport must be valid for at least six months.
At passport control, join the line under the International Passport Holders sign. A group of singers often welcomes arriving flights here. Go down the short set of stairs to baggage claim, where screens on each carousel show the flight number. Then hand your arrival card to the customs and biosecurity officer and put all your bags through the X-ray. Declare any food, plants or animal products, or drop them in the amnesty bins.
The Arrivals Hall has currency exchange, phone company stores selling local SIM cards, travel desks, car rental counters and a café. Pre-booked drivers wait here with a name sign, and taxis wait just outside. For a domestic flight, walk to the domestic terminal with the building on your right.
Fiji is on Fiji Time (UTC+12), and the currency is the Fijian dollar (FJD).
Most travelers heading to Denarau or the Coral Coast with luggage take a taxi or a pre-booked transfer; express buses suit light travelers going along the coast road.
Yellow taxis wait outside the Arrivals Hall. Nadi town is a short ride away and Denarau about 20 to 25 minutes; agree on the fare or check the meter before you set off.
Pre-booked drivers meet passengers in the Arrivals Hall with a name sign and drive directly to hotels in Nadi, Denarau, Lautoka or the Coral Coast. It suits families and groups with luggage and late arrivals.
Express coaches to Sigatoka, the Coral Coast, Pacific Harbour and Suva stop outside the International Departures Hall. Check departure times before you land, and allow several hours for the trip to Suva.
Local buses to Nadi town and Lautoka stop on Queens Road just outside the airport entrance. Fares are paid with an electronic bus card, sold at the phone company store in the Arrivals Hall.
Avis, Budget, Europcar and Hertz have desks in the Arrivals Hall. Fiji drives on the left, and booking ahead helps secure a car in busy months.
Ferries to the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands leave from Port Denarau Marina, about 20 to 25 minutes from the airport by road. Daily departures run roughly from morning to late afternoon, so plan an overnight stop if you land late.

Yes. Nadi International Airport handles about 97 percent of Fiji's international travelers and is the hub of Fiji Airways. Fiji's other international airport, Nausori International Airport near Suva, mainly handles domestic and regional flights. Suva is about three and a half hours from Nadi by road, and Fiji Link flies regularly between the two airports.
Nadi International Airport has an international terminal and a domestic terminal, a short walk apart. International flights arrive and depart from the international terminal. Fiji Link domestic flights and charter flights to island resorts use the domestic terminal, which you reach on foot from the international Arrivals Hall by keeping the terminal building on your right.
Fiji Airways is the main airline at Nadi and flies to Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Hong Kong, Tokyo and North America. Air New Zealand flies from Auckland, Qantas from Sydney, Jetstar from Melbourne and Sydney, and Virgin Australia from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Aircalin, Air Niugini, Solomon Airlines and Nauru Airlines add regional Pacific flights.
Many nationalities do not. Citizens of visa-exempt countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and many European countries, receive a visitor permit of up to four months on arrival. Your passport must be valid for at least six months, and you should carry a return or onward ticket. Other nationalities must apply for a visa before traveling.
The Fiji Passenger Arrival Card is a form every arriving traveler must complete, including children. Airlines usually hand it out on the plane, and it can also be filled in at the airport. Complete it in English and keep it with your passport, because you show it to immigration and then to the customs and biosecurity officer after baggage claim.
Fiji has strict biosecurity rules. Declare all food, plants, seeds, and animal products on your arrival card, or drop them in the amnesty bins before customs. Every bag goes through an X-ray after baggage claim, and undeclared risk items can lead to an on-the-spot fine. Duty-free goods must stay within Fiji's allowance.
Most travelers drive to Port Denarau Marina, about 20 to 25 minutes from the airport, and take a ferry or water taxi. Passenger ferries to the Mamanuca islands leave daily, roughly from morning to late afternoon, and services also run to the Yasawa islands. Some island resorts are also reached by charter flights from the domestic terminal.

The Coral Coast is about two hours south of Nadi International Airport by road, and Suva about three and a half hours along the Queens Road around the south of Viti Levu. Express buses, taxis and private transfers make both trips. Fiji Link also flies regularly from Nadi to Nausori International Airport near Suva.
Fiji is on Fiji Time, UTC+12. Because Fiji lies just west of the International Date Line, flights from North America land the day after they leave, so check the arrival date on your ticket. The currency is the Fijian dollar (FJD), and currency exchange counters are in baggage claim and the Arrivals Hall.
