Two more American cities are getting a direct line to Paris. Air France has confirmed that from May 2027 it will fly nonstop from Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to San Diego (SAN) and Nashville (BNA), adding both cities to its summer 2027 network. Tickets go on sale on October 14, 2026, so travelers planning a European summer or a U.S. trip from France can start building itineraries now.
In this post we break down the new routes, the flight times, what changes in the rest of Air France's U.S. network, and what it all means once you land and need to get to your hotel.
The new routes at a glance
- Paris CDG – San Diego (SAN): starts May 3, 2027
- Paris CDG – Nashville (BNA): starts May 14, 2027
- Aircraft: Airbus A350-900, offering four cabin classes
- Frequency: three flights a week on each route
- Tickets on sale: October 14, 2026
According to Air France, it will be the only airline offering nonstop service between Paris and these two cities, and the only carrier connecting Nashville directly with continental Europe. For more on the airline's hubs, fleet, cabins and baggage rules, see our Air France airline guide.
San Diego: midday arrivals in Southern California

The San Diego service is planned for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. As currently published:
- AF58 departs Paris CDG at 10:10 a.m. and lands in San Diego at 12:50 p.m. local time.
- AF59 departs San Diego at 3:10 p.m. and arrives in Paris at 11:05 a.m. the following day.
An early-afternoon arrival is ideal for leisure travelers: you can be at your hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter, Coronado, La Jolla or Mission Bay well before sunset. San Diego International Airport sits just a few miles from downtown, but after an 11-plus-hour flight, a waiting driver beats lining up for a taxi or rideshare pickup zone.
Some trade reports note that Air France has served San Diego seasonally in past years, so think of 2027 as the start of a more regular schedule rather than a brand-new market.
Nashville: late-afternoon arrivals in Music City

Nashville service begins two weeks after San Diego, on May 14, 2027, and is Air France's first-ever route to the city:
- AF46 departs Paris CDG at 2:10 p.m. and lands in Nashville at 4:40 p.m. the same day.
- AF47 departs Nashville at 6:55 p.m. and arrives in Paris at 10:15 a.m. the next morning.
A fun detail picked up by aviation outlets: the flight number AF46 is a nod to 1946, the year country legend Dolly Parton was born. Fitting for a city built on music.
Landing around 4:40 p.m. means you'll reach downtown, The Gulch or Music Row right as Broadway's honky-tonks start filling up. Arrival hours tend to be busy at Nashville International Airport, so having a pre-booked transfer saves you from navigating ground transportation queues while jet-lagged.
Goodbye Denver, hello new gateways
The new routes coincide with Air France ending its Paris–Denver service; the airline has closed bookings for that route in summer 2027. Industry coverage frames this as a shift of aircraft toward markets where Air France faces less competition, rather than a cutback, with United set to operate its own daily Denver–Paris flights from late May 2027.
With Nashville and San Diego added, Air France expects to serve 20 U.S. destinations in summer 2027, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York (JFK and Newark), Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. The expansion also fits the airline's transatlantic joint venture with Delta, KLM and Virgin Atlantic.
What travelers should keep in mind
- Plan around the three-weekly schedule. With only three flights a week per route, fixed travel dates may need some flexibility. For San Diego, that means Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
- Use Paris as a connection hub. Both return flights land at Charles de Gaulle in the morning, which leaves time to connect onward across Europe, Africa or the Middle East on the same day.
- Check before you fly. Schedules announced this far ahead can still change; confirm times on the airline's website closer to departure.
- Book ground transport early. Summer is peak season in both cities, and transfer availability tightens around popular arrival times.
Book your airport transfer before you fly

A long-haul flight is easier to enjoy when you know exactly how you're getting to your hotel. With AirportTransportation.com, you reserve a private transfer in advance at a fixed price, your driver tracks your flight, and you're met on arrival, ready to go.
- Flying into Southern California? Reserve your San Diego Airport Transportation for a smooth ride from SAN to downtown, the beaches or anywhere in the county.
- Heading to Music City? Book your Nashville International Airport Transportation and go straight from BNA to your hotel.
- Starting or ending your trip in Paris? Arrange your Paris Charles de Gaulle transfer so your morning arrival at CDG goes just as smoothly.
Wherever Air France takes you next summer, we'll make sure the last few miles are the easiest part of the journey.
