Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), also called Bob Hope Airport, is a domestic airport in Burbank, north of Hollywood. Since 13 October 2026 every flight uses one new terminal with 14 gates, entered from Hollywood Way at Winona Avenue; older directions to Terminals A and B no longer apply.
There are no scheduled international flights, so there is no immigration or customs here: travelers from abroad clear US entry at their first US airport. You leave the aircraft outdoors, as Burbank has no jet bridges, and collect your bags in a single indoor baggage claim hall with three carousels.
Burbank is on Pacific Time and changes its clocks for daylight saving time.
US entry. International visitors need a valid passport and a US visa or an approved ESTA. Burbank only has domestic flights, so immigration and customs happen at your first US airport.
Burbank, not LAX. BUR is a separate airport from Los Angeles International (LAX) and from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood in Florida, so check the code on your ticket.
New terminal. The terminal moved in October 2026 and the old Terminals A and B closed, so follow the new signs and your confirmation rather than older maps.
REAL ID for the flight home. Domestic flights need a REAL ID-compliant license, a passport or another TSA-accepted ID at security.
