Cape Town International Airport (CPT), formerly D. F. Malan Airport, is the main airport of Cape Town and the Western Cape. It lies on the Cape Flats east of the city, beside the N2 freeway, and has one central terminal building that links the international area on the north side with the domestic area on the south side. Departures are on the upper level and arrivals on the lower level.
On an international flight you pass passport control first, then collect your bags in the baggage hall, where free trolleys are available, and clear customs into the arrivals hall. Domestic passengers come out into the same arrivals hall.
Cape Town is on South African Standard Time (UTC+2) all year, with no daylight saving time.

Seasons are reversed. Summer runs from December to February and the cool, wet winter from June to August, so pack a layer for evenings and wind in any season.
