Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Catania–Fontanarossa Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.
Our airport transportation in Catania takes you from Fontanarossa to hotels and apartments in central Catania and Acireale, north along the coast to Giardini Naxos and Taormina, up to the villages on the slopes of Mount Etna, and south to Syracuse and the island of Ortigia.
Catania airport transfers start in the ground-floor arrivals hall of Terminal A, where every flight arrives and your driver waits with a name sign after baggage claim and customs. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and you agree a fixed price per vehicle before you fly, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group with luggage.

Our Catania airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a coach to Taormina or Syracuse that runs on a timetable and stops along the way. Catania–Fontanarossa Airport (CTA), also called Vincenzo Bellini Airport, is on the southern edge of Catania on Sicily's east coast, and SAC runs it. Every flight arrives at Terminal A; Terminal C, nearby, handles only easyJet's Schengen departures, so all arriving passengers exit into the same arrivals hall.
Flights from Italy and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks; from outside the Schengen area, including the UK, the US and Canada, you line up at passport control before baggage claim. After customs you come out into the ground-floor arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers. In summer, lines at passport control and baggage claim can be long when several flights land together.
Sicily is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 from late March to late October. Italy uses the euro.
Schengen entry. Italy is in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Etna ash. When Mount Etna erupts, ash can close Catania airport or divert flights to other Sicilian airports. Check your flight status on the day you travel, and tell us at once if you land somewhere else.
Limited-traffic zones. Taormina's historic center around Corso Umberto and parts of Ortigia in Syracuse are limited-traffic zones (ZTL). Give your full address; where cars cannot enter, your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Official taxis and ride offers. Licensed taxis are white with a roof sign and a license number on the doors. Turn down people who offer rides inside the terminal.

The airport is about 4 km (2.5 miles) southwest of central Catania, usually 15 to 20 minutes by car. Taormina is about 65 km north, roughly an hour's drive along the A18, and Syracuse is about an hour to the south.
Yes. Catania–Fontanarossa Airport, Vincenzo Bellini Airport and Catania Airport are all names for the same airport, code CTA. Your ticket may show any of them.
Yes. We drive door to door to hotels and villas in Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Mazzarò and Letojanni. In Taormina's limited-traffic center, your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Yes. We drive to hotels and apartments in Syracuse and on the island of Ortigia. Parts of Ortigia are closed to general traffic, so give your full address and your driver stops as close as a car can get.

Yes. Book your transfer for your flight's arrival time, even after midnight, when the Alibus has stopped running. Your driver follows your actual landing time.
There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in arrivals, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.
We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver waits for the actual landing. If your flight is canceled, changed or diverted to another airport because of Etna ash, tell customer service so the pickup can be moved.
