Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) is the main airport for Jakarta. It lies in Tangerang, Banten province, northwest of central Jakarta, near Cengkareng, which is why it is also called Cengkareng or Soetta airport.
The airport has three terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flights, Terminal 2 for Lion Air group and low-cost international flights, and Terminal 3, the largest, for Garuda Indonesia and most full-service international airlines. A free Skytrain links the three terminals and the airport rail station.
International arrivals clear immigration first, then collect bags in the baggage hall and pass customs into the public arrivals hall. Jakarta uses Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7) all year, with no daylight saving time.
Visa. Check whether your nationality needs a visa. Many visitors can use Indonesia's visa on arrival, applied for online as an e-VOA before travel or bought at the visa on arrival counter.
All Indonesia arrival card. Every arriving traveler must complete the All Indonesia arrival card, which combines the immigration, customs and health declarations, within three days before landing. Keep its QR code ready for customs, and use the red channel if you have goods to declare.
Check your terminal. Terminal assignments changed several times in 2025 and 2026, so confirm on your booking whether you land at Terminal 1, 2 or 3.
Indonesian rupiah. The currency is the Indonesian rupiah, and ATMs and money changers are available in the arrivals areas.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is about 20 to 25 km northwest of central Jakarta. By road the trip takes around 45 minutes in light traffic, but it can exceed two hours during the morning and evening rush.
