Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Samui International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Samui International Airport (USM) is in Bophut, on Koh Samui's northeast corner, and Bangkok Airways owns and runs it. Its open-air, thatched-roof terminals have no jet bridges: you leave the aircraft by the stairs and walk or ride an open-air shuttle to arrivals. Domestic and international flights use separate terminals about 50 m apart.
On an international flight you go through Thai immigration and customs in the International Terminal; domestic flights from Bangkok and other Thai airports have no passport checks. Baggage claim is small and quick, and you come out at the arrivals exit, where pre-booked drivers wait with name signs.
Thailand is on Indochina Time (UTC+7) all year, with no daylight saving time, and uses the baht.
Visa-free stays. Since 15 September 2026 Thailand's visa exemption covers 60 countries and territories for 30 days of tourism; other nationalities need a visa. Check the rules for your passport before you fly.
Digital Arrival Card. Foreign visitors must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) on the official immigration portal within 72 hours before arrival. Sites that charge a fee are not the government service.
No ride-hailing pickups. App-based ride services are not allowed to pick up at the airport, so arrange your ride before you land.
Vapes are banned. E-cigarettes and vapes are illegal in Thailand, so leave them at home.

The airport is about 2 km (1 mile) north of Chaweng, about 10 to 15 minutes by car. Bophut and Fisherman's Village are a similar short drive, Lamai takes about 25 to 30 minutes, and Nathon on the west coast about 30 to 40 minutes.

Yes. Give the full address and a map pin if you have one, since many villas are on steep hillside roads with no street numbers. Tell us about any gate code or check-in point.
International flights, such as from Singapore or Hong Kong, arrive at the International Terminal, and flights from Bangkok and other Thai airports at the Domestic Terminal. The two are about 50 m apart, and your driver meets you at the arrivals exit.
Yes. Give your flight number and time when you book, and the pickup is set to your arrival or to leave time for check-in before your departure.
There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle, a fixed price and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.
