Newcastle International Airport (NCL) stands at Woolsington, northwest of Newcastle upon Tyne. All flights use one terminal, with arrivals and check-in on the ground floor, and the Tyne and Wear Metro station is next to the building.
If you arrive from outside the Common Travel Area, you go through UK Border Force passport control; flights from Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man have no routine passport control. After baggage claim you walk through customs into the arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers and the car rental desks face domestic arrivals.
The UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0) and switches to British Summer Time (UTC+1) from late March to late October. It uses the pound sterling.
