San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is on the bay shore in San Mateo County, south of the city. It has four terminals around a loop, Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and the International Terminal, linked by the free AirTrain, which also runs to the rental car center and the BART station.
International flights arrive at the International Terminal, where passengers clear US immigration and customs before baggage claim; queues are longest when several long-haul flights land together. Fog over the bay can delay arrivals, mostly on summer mornings. San Francisco is on Pacific time.

It depends on how many international flights land together; at peak times it can take an hour or more. Your flight is tracked, and the driver's contact details are in your confirmation if you need to tell them you're still inside.
