Santorini International Airport (JTR), also called Thira Airport, is on the east side of the island, just north of the beach village of Kamari. All flights use a single terminal, and the airport is shared with the Greek military; Fraport Greece runs the civil side.
Flights from Athens and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. Passengers from outside the Schengen area, for example from the UK, queue at passport control. In summer the terminal gets very crowded when several flights land together, so expect waits at passport control and baggage claim. Once you have your bags, head outside, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Greece is on Eastern European Time (UTC+2) and switches to UTC+3 for daylight saving time from late March to late October.
Requisitos de entrada y notas locales
Schengen entry. Greece is in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Caldera drop-off points. Many hotels in Oia, Fira and Imerovigli are on pedestrian lanes and steps that cars cannot reach. Your driver stops at the nearest drop-off point, so ask your hotel how guests and luggage get from there to the door.
Ferry connections. Ferries to the other islands leave from Athinios port. Give us your sailing time when you book, so your drop-off fits it.
Euro and cash. Greece uses the euro; carry some cash for small purchases.
