Skiathos International Airport (JSI), officially Skiathos Alexandros Papadiamantis Airport, is the airport for the island of Skiathos in the Sporades, close to Skiathos Town. Its runway is short and narrow, with a public road close to its end, which makes it famous with plane spotters. Fraport Greece runs the airport: Terminal 1 handles domestic flights, and Terminal 2 handles international arrivals.
There are no jet bridges, so you leave the aircraft by steps and take a bus to the terminal. Flights from Athens and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, as many summer visitors do from the UK, you arrive through Terminal 2 and queue at passport control. On summer weekends, when several charter flights land close together, the small terminals can be crowded. Once you have your bags, head outside, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Most international routes run only in summer; in winter, flights are mainly to Athens. Greece is on Eastern European Time (UTC+2) and switches to UTC+3 for daylight saving time from late March to late October.
Requisitos de entrada y notas locales
Schengen entry. Greece is in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Ferry connections. Skopelos and Alonissos have no airport, so ferries leave from the port in Skiathos Town. Give us your sailing time when you book, so your drop-off fits it.
Euro and cash. Greece uses the euro; carry some cash for small purchases.
