General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport (TIJ), known as Tijuana International Airport, sits about 5 km northeast of downtown Tijuana, right on the US border. The main terminal has two concourses, A and B, and a newer building handles cross-border arrivals, immigration and customs.
Domestic passengers collect their bags and walk into the public arrivals hall; international passengers clear immigration and customs first. The Cross Border Xpress (CBX) bridge links the airport with a terminal in San Diego.
Only licensed airport taxis and pre-booked rides can pick up at the terminal. Tijuana runs on Pacific Time, the same as San Diego, including daylight saving time.
Requisitos de entrada y notas locales
Arriving through CBX? If you cross from San Diego on the Cross Border Xpress, tell us when you book so the pickup is set on the Tijuana side after you clear Mexican immigration.
Medical appointments. For clinics and hospitals in Zona Río, give the clinic name and your appointment time so the pickup leaves enough margin.
Coast and wine country. Rosarito, Ensenada and the Valle de Guadalupe are longer rides; enter the exact property so the right vehicle and price are shown.
Entry. International visitors need a valid passport. Pesos and US dollars are both widely used in Tijuana.
