Ángel Albino Corzo International Airport (TGZ), known as Tuxtla Gutiérrez International Airport, sits in the municipality of Chiapa de Corzo, about 35 km from Tuxtla Gutiérrez. All flights use one two-storey terminal: you leave the aircraft by jet bridge on the upper floor and go down to arrivals, baggage claim, immigration and customs on the lower level.
The terminal has ATMs, Wi-Fi, a café and shops. San Cristóbal de las Casas lies farther away, up in the Chiapas highlands, where evenings are noticeably cooler than in Tuxtla.
Chiapas runs on Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year.
Requisitos de entrada y notas locales
Highland stays. San Cristóbal de las Casas sits in the mountains, and many guesthouses are on narrow cobbled streets in the historic center. Give the exact address and cross streets so the driver can get as close as possible.
Pack a layer. San Cristóbal is much cooler than Tuxtla, especially at night; keep a jacket in your hand luggage.
Sumidero Canyon trips. If you're heading straight to a boat tour in Chiapa de Corzo, give the dock or meeting point and your tour time when you book.
Entry. International visitors need a valid passport. Carry some pesos for tips and small purchases.
