Airport Transportation in La Romana

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from La Romana International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our La Romana airport transportation takes you from LRM to the villas and hotels of Casa de Campo, Altos de Chavón and the marina, to downtown La Romana and its cruise terminal, and east along the coast to the resorts of Bayahibe and Dominicus.

La Romana Airport Transfers

La Romana airport transfers start at the arrivals exit of the single commercial terminal, where your driver waits with a name sign once you clear immigration, baggage claim and customs. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and the fixed price for your vehicle is agreed before you fly, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group with luggage.

Each transfer goes door to door to your Casa de Campo villa, your hotel in La Romana or your resort in Bayahibe or Dominicus. Heading to Punta Cana, Bávaro or Santo Domingo instead? Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered.

La Romana Airport Shuttle

Our La Romana airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a shared resort bus that waits for other flights or stops at other hotels. It suits families, golf groups with clubs and wedding parties heading to Casa de Campo or the Bayahibe resorts.

Landing at La Romana Airport

La Romana International Airport (LRM), also known as Casa de Campo International Airport, is a small airport beside the Casa de Campo resort, east of La Romana. Airline passengers use one commercial terminal with four gates and no jet bridges, so you leave the aircraft by stairs; private jets use a separate general aviation terminal.

Inside the terminal you line up at immigration with your passport and e-Ticket QR code, collect your bags in baggage claim, then pass through customs to the arrivals exit, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers. Duty-free shops are open in the arrivals area.

The Dominican Republic is on Atlantic Standard Time (UTC-4) all year, with no daylight saving time, and uses the Dominican peso.

Entry requirements and local notes

e-Ticket. Every passenger on a commercial flight needs the free Dominican Republic e-Ticket, completed on the government's official portal before check-in; you show its QR code on arrival and again when you leave.

Passport and return ticket. Until 31 December 2026, nationals of the US, Canada, the UK, the EU and several South American countries may enter with a passport valid for the whole stay; others need six months' validity. Carry proof of your return flight, and check the visa rules for your nationality.

Casa de Campo gate. Casa de Campo is a gated resort, so give your villa number or hotel name when you book, so your driver can be cleared at the entrance.

Pesos and dollars. The Dominican peso is the local currency; US dollars are widely accepted in the resorts, but carry some pesos for small purchases in town.

La Romana Airport Transportation FAQs

Where will my driver meet me at La Romana Airport?

At the arrivals exit of the single commercial terminal, holding a sign with your name, after immigration, baggage claim and customs.

How far is La Romana Airport from Casa de Campo and Bayahibe?

Casa de Campo is next to the airport, about 10 minutes away. Downtown La Romana is about 10 km (6 miles) west, usually 10 to 15 minutes, and Bayahibe and Dominicus are about 20 km (12 miles) east, usually 20 to 30 minutes.

Can you take me to my villa or hotel at Casa de Campo?

Yes. We drive to the villas, the hotel, the marina and Altos de Chavón inside Casa de Campo. Give your villa number or hotel name when you book, so your driver can be cleared at the resort gate.

Can you take me to Bayahibe or Dominicus?

Yes. We drive door to door to the resorts, hotels and rentals in Bayahibe and Dominicus, east of the airport along the coast.

Can you take me to the La Romana cruise terminal?

Yes. We drive you to the cruise terminal in La Romana. Give us your ship's boarding time when you book, so the pickup leaves a comfortable margin.

Can you take me to Punta Cana or Santo Domingo?

Punta Cana and Bávaro are east of La Romana, and Santo Domingo is to the west. Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered; if it is not, contact us before you fly.

Can you take me to the boats for Saona or Catalina Island?

We drive you to the dock or to your hotel; the boat trips to Saona and Catalina are run by tour operators, so give us the meeting point and time on your tour voucher.

How many terminals does La Romana Airport have?

One for airline flights. Private jets use a separate general aviation terminal at the west end of the field, so tell us if you are arriving on a private flight.

Do you drive to vacation rentals and private villas?

Yes. Give the full address or villa name, the community and any gate details when you book, so your driver goes straight to the right entrance.

Can you pick me up from a late-night or early-morning flight?

Give your flight number when you book: your driver works to your real landing time. Enter your flight details in the booking form to confirm a vehicle for that hour.

Should I buy transportation from people offering rides inside La Romana Airport?

There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in arrivals, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver waits for the actual landing. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, tell customer service so the pickup can be moved.

Can I book a ride back to La Romana Airport?

Yes. Book a one-way departure or a round trip from your villa, hotel or cruise ship, and give your flight number and departure time, so the pickup is set for check-in and your e-Ticket departure QR code.

Do I need cash when I land in La Romana?

Not for your transfer, which is paid when you book. US dollars are widely accepted in the resorts, but carry some Dominican pesos for small purchases in town.
