Airport Transportation in Montreal

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our airport transportation in Montreal takes you from Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) to hotels and apartments downtown, in Old Montreal, the Plateau and around the Old Port, to homes in Laval and the West Island, and to Central Station.

Montreal Airport Transfers

Montreal airport transfers start in the public arrivals hall of YUL's single terminal, where your driver waits with a name sign after baggage claim and customs. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and the fixed price for your vehicle is agreed before you fly, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group with luggage.

Each Montreal airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel, apartment or vacation rental downtown, in Old Montreal or in Laval, or to Central Station for your train. Going on to Mont-Tremblant, Ottawa or Québec City? Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered for that route before you pay.

Montreal Airport Shuttle

Our Montreal airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a shared bus that stops at other downtown hotels on the way. It leaves as soon as you have your bags, with room for suitcases, strollers and ski bags, and suits families and groups staying downtown or in Old Montreal.

Landing at Montreal Airport

Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is in Dorval, west of downtown Montreal, and ADM Aéroports de Montréal runs it. All flights use one terminal with domestic, international and transborder zones, and every arriving passenger exits on the arrivals level, the lower floor.

If you fly in from outside Canada, including from the United States, you go through Canada Border Services Agency inspection before baggage claim; waits vary with the number of flights landing. After baggage claim you walk through to the public arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers. Signs are in French and English.

Montreal is on Eastern Time (UTC−5) and switches to UTC−4 for daylight saving time from March to November. It uses the Canadian dollar.

Entry requirements and local notes

eTA or visa. Most visitors from visa-exempt countries need an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before flying to Canada; US citizens do not. Travelers from other countries may need a visa, so check the Government of Canada's requirements for your passport.

Advance Declaration. You can fill in your customs declaration in the ArriveCAN app before landing, which can save time at the border.

French in Quebec. French is Quebec's official language, so street signs and many addresses are in French. Give your full address as written, with the street name and any apartment number, so your driver finds it the first time.

US preclearance on the way home. Flights to the United States clear US immigration and customs at YUL before boarding, so allow for it when you book your ride back to the airport.

How far is Montreal Airport from downtown Montreal?

Montréal-Trudeau is in Dorval, about 15 km (9 miles) west of downtown. The drive usually takes 20 to 40 minutes depending on traffic and roadwork, and Laval is a similar distance to the north.

Can you take me to Old Montreal or the Old Port?

Yes. We drive door to door to hotels, apartments and vacation rentals in Old Montreal and around the Old Port. Some streets there are narrow, cobbled or pedestrian, so your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.

Can you take me to Laval?

Yes. We drive to hotels and homes across Laval, north of the island of Montreal. Give the full address when you book.

Can you take me to Mont-Tremblant?

Mont-Tremblant is a ski and lake resort in the Laurentians, about 2 hours north of Montreal. Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered for that route; if it is not, contact us before you fly.

Ottawa and Québec City are long drives from Montreal, each a city with its own airport. Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered for that route; if it is not, contact us before you fly.

Which terminal will I arrive at in Montreal?

YUL has one terminal, divided into domestic, international and transborder zones for departures. Every arriving passenger exits into the arrivals level of the same building, so your driver meets you there whichever airline you fly.

Do you drive to apartments and vacation rentals in Montreal?

Yes. Book the pickup for your flight time, whatever the hour, and give your flight number so your driver follows the actual arrival.

Should I buy transportation from people offering rides inside Montreal Airport?

There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in arrivals, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver waits for the actual landing. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, tell customer service so the pickup can be moved.

Can I book a ride back to Montreal Airport?

Is there a train from Montreal Airport to downtown?

Is Airport Transportation the same as Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport?
