Naha Airport (OKA) is the main airport for Okinawa, Japan's southernmost prefecture, on the coast at the western edge of Naha, and it is open 24 hours. It has a Domestic Terminal, for flights from mainland Japan and the outer islands such as Ishigaki and Miyako, and an International Terminal, for flights from Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, mainland China, Thailand and Singapore; a connecting building opened in 2019 joins the two, so you can walk between them. The airport shares its runways with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Naha Air Base.
On an international flight you go through quarantine, then immigration, where foreign visitors have their fingerprints and photo taken, and then customs. Registering your details on Visit Japan Web before you fly can speed things up. Domestic flights arrive with no checks. After baggage claim you come out into the arrivals lobby, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
