Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is northwest of Sacramento, and the Sacramento County Department of Airports runs it. It has two terminals in separate buildings: Terminal A for Air Canada, American, Delta and United, and Terminal B for Southwest, Alaska, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Aeroméxico and Volaris. In Terminal B, a people mover brings you from the concourse to the landside building.
Domestic flights, and flights from Toronto and Vancouver, which clear US border checks before departure, arrive with no passport control. Flights from Mexico arrive at Terminal B's International Arrivals facility for US Customs and Border Protection. Baggage claim is on the ground level of Terminal A and the first level of Terminal B, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Sacramento is on Pacific Time (UTC−8), and UTC−7 from March to early November.
Entry requirements and local notes
US entry. Arrivals from Mexico clear US Customs and Border Protection in Terminal B. Visitors need an ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program or a US visa, depending on nationality, so check the rules for your passport before you fly.
Terminal A or B. The two terminals are separate buildings, so tell us which one your airline uses; the pickup point depends on it.
No waiting at the curb. The terminal curbs are for active loading only, and vehicles that wait there may be ticketed or towed, so your driver meets you inside at baggage claim and walks you out.
Sacramento, not San Francisco. Sacramento (SMF) is a separate airport from San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK), so check the code on your ticket.
