Tegucigalpa's international flights arrive at Palmerola International Airport (XPL), in the Comayagua valley of central Honduras, next to the Soto Cano air base. Toncontín (TGU), inside the city, now handles domestic flights only.
Palmerola has a single passenger terminal with boarding bridges. After you leave the aircraft, follow the signs to immigration (Migración); automated kiosks and eGates currently serve Honduran citizens, so most visitors queue at the staffed desks. Then collect your bags and pass through customs (Aduanas) into the public arrivals hall, where taxi, shuttle and car-rental counters are located and where pre-booked drivers wait.
Honduras keeps Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year with no daylight saving time. The Comayagua valley sits lower than Tegucigalpa and is usually warmer on arrival.
