Tenerife South Airport (TFS), also called Tenerife Sur or Reina Sofía Airport, is on the island's south coast in Granadilla de Abona, and Aena runs it. All flights use one terminal: arrivals, two baggage claim halls with 14 carousels, the bus stops and the taxi stand are on Floor 0.
Flights from Spain and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks; from outside the Schengen area, including the UK and Ireland, you line up at passport control. After baggage claim you pass the customs channels into the arrivals area, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
The Canary Islands are on Western European Time (UTC+0, UTC+1 from late March to late October), one hour behind mainland Spain. Spain uses the euro.
Entry requirements and local notes
Schengen entry. The Canary Islands are part of Spain and the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers arriving from outside it are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) at passport control. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Duty-free limits. The Canary Islands are outside the EU VAT and customs area, so duty-free allowances on tobacco, alcohol and other goods apply on arrival and when you fly home, even to mainland Spain.
Check your airport. Tenerife has two airports. This page is for Tenerife South (TFS); many domestic and inter-island flights use Tenerife North (TFN), so check the code on your ticket.
Canary time. The islands are one hour behind mainland Spain, so give your pickup and flight times in local Canary time.
