Passenger terminal
The single terminal for all airlines, with check-in, arrivals and gate areas A (A1 to A15) and B (B1 to B5). A new check-in hall and departures area opened in 2025.
También conocido como: Bergamo Airport, BGY Airport, Milan Bergamo Airport, Orio al Serio Airport. Antes Orio al Serio International Airport.
BGY · LIME · Bergamo
Il Caravaggio International Airport (BGY), better known as Milan Bergamo or Bergamo Airport, serves Bergamo and Milan in Lombardy, northern Italy. It stands in Orio al Serio, about 4 km (2.5 miles) southeast of Bergamo and about 45 km (28 miles) northeast of Milan, beside the A4 highway.
It is one of Italy's busiest airports, with about 16.9 million passengers in 2025, and most of its traffic is low-cost. Ryanair runs one of its largest bases here, with flights across Italy and Europe, while Wizz Air serves Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Air Arabia, flydubai, Pegasus Airlines, AJet, Norwegian, Eurowings, Neos and Volotea add routes to North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, Scandinavia and holiday islands.
All flights use a single terminal, split into gate areas A and B and enlarged in 2025 with a new check-in hall and departures area.
From the airport, the drive to central Bergamo and its walled upper town, Città Alta, usually takes about 15 minutes, and the drive to central Milan about an hour, depending on traffic on the A4. Many travelers also continue to Lake Iseo, Lake Como, Lake Garda, Brescia or the ski resorts of the Alps.

Flights from Italy and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK, Morocco, Albania or Turkey, you line up at passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).
Bergamo has one terminal, so after baggage claim and customs you walk straight into the arrivals hall. Currency exchange, a Bergamo tourist information point and free Wi-Fi are in the terminal.
Outside, the taxi stand is at the arrivals exit by Door 1. Coaches to Milano Centrale and ATB line 1 buses to Bergamo station and Città Alta leave from the bus stops in front of the terminal, and the left luggage office is in the Mobility Plaza, which links the terminal with the railway station under construction. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals hall.
Italy is on Central European Time and uses the euro.
Coaches are the cheapest way to Milan; a taxi or pre-booked car is easier with luggage, at night or for the lakes.
Autostradale, Flibco, Orioshuttle and Terravision run frequent coaches to Milano Centrale station, usually about an hour depending on traffic on the A4.
ATB's airport bus links the terminal with Bergamo railway station, the city center and Città Alta, about three times an hour; it can be slow at rush hour.
Direct coaches run to Brescia, Verona Porta Nuova, Desenzano del Garda, Como, Monza, Fiera Milano Rho and Malpensa Airport, with fewer departures than the Milan lines.
Official taxis wait at the rank by the arrivals exit at Door 1. The ride into Bergamo is short; to Milan it is a long, metered trip.
A pre-booked car meets you in the arrivals hall, useful for families, groups, late arrivals and trips to Milan or the lakes.

Milan Bergamo Airport is about 45 km (28 miles) northeast of Milan, beside the A4 highway. Coaches to Milano Centrale station usually take about an hour, depending on traffic, and a taxi or pre-booked car takes a similar time door to door. The A4 is often busy on weekday mornings and evenings, so allow extra time before a departure.
The airport is in Orio al Serio, about 4 km (2.5 miles) southeast of Bergamo. ATB bus line 1 links the terminal with Bergamo railway station, the city center and Città Alta, about three times an hour. A taxi from the rank at Door 1 reaches the lower town in about 15 minutes outside rush hour.
Yes. The airport stands in the town of Orio al Serio, so many people still call it Orio al Serio Airport. Its official name is Il Caravaggio International Airport, it is marketed as Milan Bergamo Airport, and its code is BGY. It is a different airport from Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Milan Linate (LIN).
Not yet. A rail link from Bergamo railway station to a new station at the airport is under construction, with the opening expected later than first planned. Until it opens, ATB bus line 1 runs between the terminal and Bergamo station in about 15 to 20 minutes, where regional trains continue to Milan, Brescia and Lecco.
Take one of the direct coaches run by Autostradale, Flibco, Orioshuttle or Terravision. They leave from the bus stops in front of the terminal and reach Milano Centrale station in about an hour, depending on traffic. A taxi or pre-booked car goes door to door to any address in Milan, which is easier with luggage or late at night.
Milan Bergamo has one passenger terminal, used by every airline. Inside, the gates are split into area A (gates A1 to A15) and area B (gates B1 to B5). A new check-in hall and departures area opened in 2025. All arriving passengers leave through the same arrivals hall after baggage claim and customs.
Ryanair flies the most routes from Bergamo, where it has one of its largest bases, to cities across Italy and Europe. Wizz Air serves Eastern Europe and the Balkans, and Air Arabia, flydubai, Pegasus Airlines, AJet, Norwegian, Eurowings, Neos, Volotea and Aeroitalia add routes to North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey and Scandinavia.
The taxi stand is outside the arrivals exit at Door 1, in the area set aside for taxis. Official taxis are metered and go door to door to Bergamo, Città Alta and Milan. Use the rank or a pre-booked car rather than accepting offers of rides from people inside the terminal.
Yes. ATB bus line 1 runs from the airport through Bergamo railway station and the lower town up to Città Alta, about three times an hour from early morning to around midnight. Buy a ticket from the machine at the stop before boarding. Buses can be slow in traffic, so leave a margin on the way back.
Yes, two. The Check-in Lounge is in departures before security, by Door 5, open from 4:30 to 21:30. The HelloSky Lounge is airside, open from 5:00 to 23:00, with an option that includes a shower. Both are open to any passenger who buys an entry, for up to three hours.
Italy is in the Schengen area, so flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. Arrivals from outside it, such as the UK, Morocco or Albania, go through passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
SACBO runs the airport parking lots under the Milan Airports Parking brand. P1 is for short stays near the terminal, P2 has covered and open-air medium-stay spaces close by, and P3, P4 and P5 are long-stay lots with a free shuttle bus. You can book ahead online, and staff are on site 24 hours a day.
Yes. The left luggage office is in the Mobility Plaza just outside the terminal, the area that will link the airport with its new railway station. It is open every day from 7:00 to 22:00, which is useful for a few hours in Bergamo's Città Alta before a later flight.
