Handles most flights at Bordeaux, including European full-service and low-cost airlines and routes to North Africa.
BOD · LFBD

Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD) is the international airport for Bordeaux and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in southwestern France. It sits in the town of Mérignac, about 12 kilometers west of Bordeaux city center.
Around 26 airlines fly here. Air France links Bordeaux with Paris, Lyon and Nice, and easyJet, Volotea and Wizz Air run most of the leisure routes across Europe, North Africa and the Canary Islands. Long-haul service includes Air Transat to Montreal and Corsair to Fort-de-France in Martinique. Many routes are seasonal, so the network is larger in summer than in winter.
The airport has three terminals. Hall A handles most airlines, Hall B is dedicated to Air France, and Terminal billi serves low-cost carriers such as easyJet. A new central building between Halls A and B is under construction.
By road, the drive to central Bordeaux usually takes around 25 minutes outside rush hour. Tram line F runs from outside the terminals to the city center and Saint-Jean train station. Many arriving travelers continue beyond the city to the vineyards of Saint-Émilion and the Médoc, or west to the Arcachon Bay.
Aéroport de Bordeaux-Mérignac (SA ADBM), state concessionaire since 2007
Two crossing runways: 05/23 (3,100 m) and 11/29 (2,415 m)
About 5.9 million in 2025
26 airlines in 2025
Open from 4:00 to 23:30 depending on flights; closed to the public from midnight to 4:00
In Halls A and B, arrivals are on the ground floor and departures on the upper floor; in Terminal billi both are on the same level. If you arrive from outside the Schengen area, you pass through passport control before reaching baggage reclaim. EU entry rules apply, so check your passport and visa requirements before you fly.
After collecting your bags, exit into the arrivals hall of your terminal. Since 16 September 2026, the indoor corridor between Hall A and Hall B is closed for construction, so moving between them means taking the signposted outdoor path. Allow a few extra minutes if your ride is waiting at the other hall.
Outside, taxis wait in front of Hall A. The tram line F stop, the 30'Direct shuttle to Saint-Jean station and the main bus stop are in front of Hall B, near the Express parking. ATMs are available in all three terminals. Note that the terminals close to the public between midnight and 4 a.m.
Tram line F is the cheapest way into Bordeaux; a private transfer suits families, groups and anyone heading to the vineyards or the coast.
The stop is in front of the Express parking, near Hall B. Trams reach Hôtel de Ville in about 35 minutes and Saint-Jean station in about 45, every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 15 on Sundays, from 5:00 to midnight (1:00 Thursday to Saturday). Trams stop at every station and can be crowded with luggage.
Leaves from outside Hall B and runs nonstop to Hall 2 of Bordeaux Saint-Jean station in about 30 minutes, every day of the year. Luggage travels free and every passenger gets a seat, but it goes only to the station.
The taxi rank is outside Hall A, served from the first to the last flight. The ride to the city center takes about 25 minutes in normal traffic; fares rise at night and the meter keeps running in rocade traffic.
Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall of your terminal and takes you door to door, whether to central Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, the Médoc or the Arcachon Bay. It costs more than public transport for solo travelers, but the rate is fixed in advance.
Local TBM buses link the airport with nearby parts of Mérignac and neighboring suburbs. Useful for airport-area hotels and business parks, less so for the city center.

Terminal billi is a separate building reached on foot from Halls A and B. Passengers connecting on separate tickets must collect their bags and check in again.
Halls A and B share one building, with departures upstairs and arrivals on the ground floor. A new central building between them is being built, with full completion planned for mid-2028.
Handles most flights at Bordeaux, including European full-service and low-cost airlines and routes to North Africa.
Dedicated to Air France arrivals and departures. The tram line F stop and the 30'Direct shuttle are just outside.
