Sobre Milan Linate Airport

Milan Linate Airport (LIN), officially named after the aviation pioneer Enrico Forlanini, is the city airport of Milan, Italy. It stands on the eastern edge of the city, with its terminal in Segrate, about 7 to 8 km (5 miles) from the center, beside the A51 ring road.

Linate handles short- and medium-haul flights to Italian and European cities. ITA Airways flies the most routes, to Rome, Naples, Sicily, Sardinia and other Italian cities and to several European capitals, while easyJet serves London, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona and more. Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, British Airways, Iberia, SAS, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Aer Lingus and others link Linate with their hubs. The airport handled 11.1 million passengers in 2025.

All flights use one terminal: arrivals and check-in are on the ground floor and departures on the first floor, with gates for Schengen and non-Schengen flights.

From Linate, most travelers head into central Milan, around the Duomo, San Babila, Brera and the fashion district, or to Milano Centrale station, Porta Nuova and CityLife. Others go on to the Fiera Milano exhibition center, Monza or Lake Como.

Consejos de llegada a Milan Linate Airport

Flights from Italy and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you fly in from outside the Schengen area, such as from London, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin, you go through passport control first, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System.

Linate has one terminal, so there is no terminal to choose. Baggage claim is on the ground floor; report missing or damaged bags at your airline's lost and found desk before you leave the customs area. You then walk out into the arrivals hall, where car rental offices and a left luggage desk are located and pre-booked drivers usually meet passengers.

For the city, follow the signs to the Metro: line M4 runs from Linate Aeroporto station to San Babila in the center and on across the city. Coaches to Milano Centrale leave from outside the terminal, and official taxis wait at the taxi stand outside arrivals on the ground floor.

Italy is on Central European Time and uses the euro.

Transporte terrestre

The M4 Metro is the quickest way into central Milan; a taxi or pre-booked car is easier with luggage or for addresses away from the stations.

  • Metro line M4

Trains leave from Linate Aeroporto station, a short walk from arrivals, and reach San Babila in the center in about 12 minutes before continuing west to San Cristoforo. After the Metro closes for the night, the NM4 night bus follows the same route.

  • Coach to Milano Centrale

Air Pullman and Autostradale coaches run from outside the terminal to Milano Centrale station in about 25 minutes, handy if you are catching a train.

  • City buses

ATM and suburban lines, including 923, 973 and 901, stop at the airport; they suit local trips more than the ride to the center.

  • Taxi from Linate airport

Official white taxis wait at the taxi stand outside the arrivals area on the ground floor and go door to door anywhere in Milan.

  • Car rental

Rental company offices are in the arrivals area on the ground floor.

  • Private transfer

A pre-booked car meets you in the arrivals hall, useful for families, groups, late arrivals and trips to Lake Como or the Fiera Milano exhibition center.

No. Milan has three airports: Linate (LIN), on the city's eastern edge; Malpensa (MXP), about 50 km northwest, where most long-haul flights land; and Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY), about 45 km northeast near Bergamo. They are far apart, so check the code on your ticket before you plan your ride.

How many terminals does Linate airport have?

Linate has one passenger terminal for all flights. Check-in, baggage claim and the arrivals hall are on the ground floor, and the departure area with shops, restaurants and gates is on the first floor. Does Linate have international flights?

Yes, but only within Europe. Linate handles domestic Italian flights and flights to other European cities, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid and Dublin.
