The Hip Strip, the stretch of hotels, bars and beaches along Gloucester Avenue, is in Montego Bay itself, so it is a short drive from the terminal. Negril and Ocho Rios are much farther, at roughly 1.5 hours each by road.

Yes. The Knutsford Express coach service departs from the airport to towns across Jamaica, including Negril, about 1.5 hours away. Public buses also run from the airport area to Negril and take around two hours. Both run on timetables, so check departure times before you land.

Uber operates in Montego Bay, but the number of available drivers at the airport varies. Open the app after you clear customs, follow the in-app meeting instructions, and check the driver's name, car and plate before getting in. For early or time-critical trips, a pre-arranged transfer or authorised taxi is more reliable.

Yes. Visitors complete Jamaica's Immigration/Customs Declaration (C5) form, which you can fill in online up to 30 days before arrival. With the confirmation you go straight to a kiosk to scan your passport. Visitors also need a valid passport and a return ticket. You can still complete the form on arrival.

Negril is about 80 km (50 miles) west of Sangster International Airport. The drive usually takes between 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes, depending on traffic. The Knutsford Express coach takes about 1.5 hours, and International AirLink also flies small aircraft from MBJ to Negril.

Ocho Rios is about 97 km east of Sangster International Airport. The drive takes about an hour and a half along the A1 highway, which follows the north coast through several resort towns. Travel times can be longer at busy times of day or in heavy rain.
