Mérida International Airport (MID), officially Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport, is the main gateway to Mérida and the state of Yucatán, Mexico. It sits inside the Mérida urban area, less than 5 km southwest of the city center, so the historic center and most hotels are a short ride away.
Most flights are domestic. Viva Aerobus, which uses Mérida as a focus city, Volaris, Aeroméxico and Mexicana link it with Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Tijuana and other Mexican cities. International routes go to Miami, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Orlando in the United States, to Toronto in winter, to Havana, and to Guatemala City and Flores with TAG Airlines.
All passengers use one two-storey terminal. Arrivals, immigration, customs and baggage claim are on the ground floor, and departures are upstairs along a 260-metre concourse with 11 gates, C1 to C11, seven of them with jet bridges. The airport operates around the clock.
The IE-Tram airport route connects the terminal with the city, alongside taxis, rental cars and pre-booked transfers to Mérida and destinations across Yucatán.

Everything for arriving passengers is on the ground floor of the single terminal. On an international flight you pass Mexican immigration first; have your passport ready, along with any documents your nationality requires. Domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim.
Collect your bags at the carousel shown for your flight, and report missing or damaged luggage at your airline's desk before you leave the hall. International passengers then go through customs.
The public arrivals area has taxi stands, car-rental desks, snack bars and souvenir shops. Avoid unsolicited offers of transport inside or just outside the terminal if you already have a booking; pre-booked drivers wait in arrivals or at the spot named in your confirmation.
The city center is less than 5 km away, so the trip into Mérida is short. If you plan to take the IE-Tram airport route, check how to pay the fare before you reach the stop; Va y Ven cardholders get reduced fares.
The city center is less than 5 km away, so every option is quick; a pre-booked transfer suits trips beyond Mérida.
A driver meets you in arrivals and takes you to your hotel or address in Mérida, or to destinations across Yucatán. The easiest choice with luggage, a group or a trip outside the city.
Route R907 is an all-electric service linking the airport with the city, with reduced fares for eligible Va y Ven cardholders. The cheapest option, but less convenient with heavy bags.

A common guideline is to arrive at least two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight from Mérida. The short distance from the city makes the drive quick, but check-in and security can still be busy during holidays and peak travel weekends. Always follow your airline's own recommendation for your flight.
