Practical information

Baggage Cabin bags, checked bags, missing luggage

Viva is a low-cost airline: the basic fare includes only a small personal item, and carry-on and checked bags are added on or come with a higher fare bundle. Allowances are shown during booking.

Personal item

Included on every fare. It must fit under the seat in front of you.

Carry-on

A larger cabin bag is included in some fare bundles and can be added to others. Adding it when you book is usually cheaper than at the airport.

Checked baggage

Included in some fare bundles and sold separately on the rest. Check the weight limit for your fare.

Special items

Sports equipment, pets and oversized items follow separate rules. Check vivaaerobus.com before you fly.

Check-in and boarding Steps before departure

Check in online on vivaaerobus.com or the Viva app. On some fares, checking in at the airport counter carries a fee, so check in online when you can. Follow the deadlines shown in your booking.

  1. 1 Confirm

Confirm which airport you fly from. In Mexico City, Viva uses both Benito Juárez (MEX) and Felipe Ángeles (NLU).

  2. 2 Documents

Review ID, passport and visa requirements, especially on flights to the United States.

  3. 3 Check in

Check in online or in the app.

  4. 4 Boarding pass

    Download the mobile boarding pass.

  5. 5 Arrive early

Allow time for bag drop and security, and longer on international flights.

Lounges

Viva does not operate its own lounges. At some airports, paid lounges run by the airport or independent operators are open to all passengers. Check the options at your departure airport.

Loyalty program

Doters is Viva’s loyalty program. Earning and redemption rules change, so check the program terms on vivaaerobus.com for the conditions that apply to your trip.
