Sobre Narita International Airport

Narita International Airport (NRT) is one of Tokyo's two main airports and Japan's largest international gateway after Haneda. It sits in the city of Narita in Chiba Prefecture, about 60 km (37 miles) east of central Tokyo. In 2025 it handled about 42 million passengers.

ANA and the Star Alliance airlines, Japan Airlines and the oneworld airlines, and a large group of low-cost airlines such as Zipair, Jetstar Japan, Peach and Spring Japan all fly from Narita, with routes across Asia, North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East, plus a network of domestic flights.

The airport has three terminals. Terminal 1 is split into a South Wing for ANA and Star Alliance and a North Wing for other airlines; Terminal 2 is home to Japan Airlines and oneworld; Terminal 3 is the low-cost terminal. Flights do not operate between midnight and 6:00 because of a night curfew.

From the airport, most travelers head into central Tokyo, to Tokyo Station, Ueno, Shinjuku and Shibuya, to the hotels around Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Disney Resort, or to Narita city and its temple. The Narita Express and Keisei Skyliner trains run from the terminals into the city.

Consejos de llegada a Narita International Airport

Check your terminal before anyone comes to meet you: ANA and Star Alliance arrive at Terminal 1, Japan Airlines and oneworld at Terminal 2, and low-cost airlines at Terminal 3.

On international flights you go through quarantine, then immigration, where foreign visitors have their fingerprints and photo taken, and then customs. Filling in your details on Visit Japan Web before you fly can speed things up. Queues can be long when several long-haul flights land together in the afternoon.

In the arrivals lobby, follow the signs for trains, buses or taxis. The Narita Express runs to Tokyo Station and beyond, and the Keisei Skyliner runs to Nippori and Ueno, where you can change to the Yamanote Line. Airport limousine buses run to hotels and stations across Tokyo, including Tokyo City Air Terminal in about 55 minutes. Fixed-rate taxis run to Tokyo, Kawasaki and Yokohama. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals lobby.

Japan is on Japan Standard Time (UTC+9) all year and uses the yen.
