Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is the airport for Málaga and the Costa del Sol, in Andalusia, Spain. It sits about 8 km (5 miles) southwest of Málaga city center and about 5 km north of Torremolinos, between the city and the resorts along the coast.
Ryanair has its largest base here, and easyJet, Vueling, Norwegian and Jet2 fly many more routes, most of them to the UK, Ireland, the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe. Long-haul flights go to Newark with United in season, Montréal with Air Transat, Doha with Qatar Airways, Abu Dhabi with Etihad in season and Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. In 2025 the airport handled about 26.8 million passengers.
Two terminals are in use: Terminal 3, the newer and main terminal, and Terminal 2, the Pablo Ruiz Picasso terminal. The old Terminal 1 is closed to the public. A transport hub outside Terminal 3 links the bus station, the underground train station and the parking lots.
From the airport, most travelers head into Málaga, west along the coast to Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Marbella and Estepona, or east to Nerja.

Most flights arrive at Terminal 3. Flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, as many passengers here do from the UK and Ireland, you queue at passport control, where non-EU visitors are registered in the EU's Entry/Exit System. Queues can be long in summer when several UK flights land together.
After baggage claim, follow the signs out of the Terminal 3 arrivals hall. Look for "Tren" for the train, "Autobús" for buses and "Taxi" for the rank. The transport hub outside Terminal 3 links the bus station, the train station and the parking lots.
Cercanías trains leave from the underground station at Terminal 3 about every 20 minutes, running one way to Málaga city and the other way to Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola. Official taxis wait at the rank outside arrivals, and pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals hall.
Spain is on Central European Time (CET), one hour ahead of the UK, and uses the euro.
The train is the cheap, quick way to Málaga and the nearby resorts; for Marbella, Estepona or Nerja a pre-booked car or taxi is easier.
Trains about every 20 minutes from the station under Terminal 3 to Málaga city in one direction and Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola in the other. Cheap and quick.
A pre-booked car meets you in the arrivals hall, the easiest option for Marbella, Estepona, Nerja and villas along the coast.
Official taxis wait at the rank outside Terminal 3 arrivals. Door to door, but summer queues can be long.
The airport bus (Line A) runs from the bus station outside Terminal 3 to Málaga city center.
Intercity coaches leave from the airport bus station for Marbella and other coastal towns.

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is about 8 km (5 miles) southwest of Málaga city center. Cercanías trains from the station under Terminal 3 reach the city about every 20 minutes, and the airport bus, taxis and pre-booked cars are other options.
Take the Cercanías train from the station under Terminal 3, which runs about every 20 minutes west along the coast to Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola. Torremolinos is only about 5 km from the airport, so a taxi is a short ride too.
Marbella lies west along the coast, beyond Fuengirola, and has no train from the airport. Coaches run from the airport bus station, and a taxi or pre-booked transfer goes direct, which is easier with luggage or for hotels outside the town center.
