Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is at Ingliston, on the western edge of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, just off the M8 and M9 motorways. All domestic and international flights use a single terminal.
International arrivals pass through UK border control; the UK is not part of the Schengen Area. Flights from elsewhere in the UK and Ireland arrive without passport checks. After border control you collect your bags in the reclaim hall and walk through customs into arrivals. Rideshare and many pre-booked cars collect passengers from the pick-up zone on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park, a short walk from arrivals.

UK ETA. Most visa-exempt visitors to the UK, including EU nationals, need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) approved before they travel. British and Irish passport holders do not need one.
Not in Schengen. The UK runs its own border control, so international arrivals go through UK passport checks even if you started your trip in the EU.
Pound sterling. Scotland uses the pound sterling; Scottish banks issue their own sterling notes, which are legal currency across the UK.
