Glasgow Airport (GLA) is at Abbotsinch, beside Paisley and west of Glasgow, just off the M8. Arriving passengers all come out into the Main Terminal; the separate T2 building is used only for check-in, mainly by Jet2.com.
International arrivals pass through UK Border Force passport control; the UK is not part of the Schengen Area. Flights from elsewhere in the UK and from Ireland arrive in the domestic area without passport checks. After baggage reclaim you walk through customs into arrivals, where there are Travelex desks and cash machines.
Glasgow is on Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0) and moves to British Summer Time (UTC+1) from late March to late October.
UK ETA. Most visa-exempt visitors to the UK, including US, Canadian and EU nationals, need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) approved before they travel. British and Irish passport holders do not need one.
