After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Kansai airport transfers start in the arrivals lobby of the terminal where your flight lands, Terminal 1 for most international and domestic flights or Terminal 2 for low-cost airlines such as Peach, Spring Airlines and Jeju Air, and your driver waits there with a name sign. Terminal 2 is a shuttle-bus ride from Terminal 1, so check the terminal on your ticket and give it when you book. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, late at night included, and you choose the vehicle for your party, from a sedan for two to a minivan or minibus for a family or group with luggage.
Each Kansai airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel, apartment or office in Osaka, in Namba, Shinsaibashi, Umeda or around Shin-Osaka Station, or to Universal Studios Japan. For addresses in Osaka, the fare for each vehicle shows in the booking form before you pay. Going on to Kyoto, Nara or Kobe? Our Kansai airport shuttle is a private car or van from KIX for your party only, not a shared bus that stops at several hotels on the way into Osaka. It leaves as soon as you are through arrivals, with room for suitcases and strollers, and suits families heading to Universal Studios Japan, groups and anyone landing late at night.

Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the main international airport for Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe, built on an artificial island in Osaka Bay and linked to the mainland by the Sky Gate Bridge. It is open 24 hours. Terminal 1, designed by Renzo Piano, handles most international and domestic flights, including ANA and Japan Airlines; Terminal 2 is a smaller, single-story terminal for low-cost airlines such as Peach, Spring Airlines and Jeju Air, linked to Terminal 1 by free shuttle buses. Osaka's other airport, Itami (ITM), handles domestic flights only.
On an international flight you go through quarantine, then immigration, where foreign visitors have their fingerprints and photo taken, and then customs. Registering your details on Visit Japan Web before you fly can speed up immigration and customs. After customs you come out into the arrivals lobby, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Japan is on Japan Standard Time (UTC+9) all year, with no daylight saving time, and uses the yen.
Kansai, not Itami. Osaka has two airports. This page books rides from Kansai (KIX), where almost all international flights land; if your ticket shows Osaka Itami (ITM), book on our Itami page.
Visit Japan Web. Register your immigration and customs details on Visit Japan Web before you fly, and check the visa rules for your nationality.
Hotel addresses. Many Osaka addresses use district and block numbers rather than street names, so give your hotel's name and full address, in Japanese too if you have it.
Yen and IC cards. Japan uses the yen; an IC card such as ICOCA or Suica is accepted widely.

A private transfer is easier with luggage, late at night when the trains have stopped, or for addresses away from the stations.
