London Luton Airport lies in Luton, Bedfordshire, north of London and close to the M1.
Luton has one terminal, with check-in, arrivals and departures in the same building, so there is no terminal to choose. Most flights are short-haul across Europe, with easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair and Jet2 the largest airlines.
You clear UK passport control first; many visitors can use the eGates. After baggage claim and customs you walk into the arrivals hall on the ground floor, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers. The UK is on GMT in winter and BST (GMT+1) in summer.
UK ETA. The UK is not in the Schengen area. Unless you hold a British or Irish passport or a UK visa, you need an approved Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before you board; since 25 February 2026 that includes EU, EEA and US citizens. Check the rules for your passport on GOV.UK before you fly.
Luton, not central London. London Luton Airport (LTN) is in Bedfordshire, north of the capital, not in London itself, so check which London airport is on your ticket before you plan your onward trip.

Pounds and cards. The UK uses pounds sterling, and cards and contactless payments are accepted almost everywhere.

The DART and train reach St Pancras quickly if you are staying nearby and travel light. A private transfer is booked in advance at a fixed price per vehicle and takes you door to door, which suits families, groups, heavy luggage and early or late flights.
Yes. Many flights leave Luton at dawn or land close to midnight. Book ahead with your exact flight time, and availability is confirmed through the booking system.
