Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) is the airport of New Haven, Connecticut, about 3 miles southeast of downtown, and the main base of Avelo Airlines; Breeze Airways also flies here. Passengers use one small terminal on the west side of the airfield. A new East Terminal is part of the airport's expansion plan, and until it opens every flight uses the current building.
All scheduled flights are domestic, so there is no immigration or customs on arrival. You leave the aircraft by jet bridge or a ground-level ramp, walk a short distance to baggage claim, then continue out to the arrivals area.
New Haven is on Eastern Time, UTC-5, and UTC-4 during daylight saving time.
No passport control at HVN. All flights are domestic, including those from Puerto Rico. International visitors clear US immigration at their first US airport, and Visa Waiver Program travelers need an approved ESTA before flying to the United States.
ID for your return flight. Travelers 18 and older need a REAL ID or another TSA-accepted photo ID for domestic flights.
Rideshare and taxis. Uber and Lyft are authorized at the airport, and M7 Ride taxis wait at Arrivals before each flight.
No street parking. If friends or family meet you, street parking near the airport is prohibited and vehicles are ticketed and towed.

The airport is about 3 miles (5 km) southeast of downtown New Haven. The drive to the New Haven Green and the Yale University campus usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. Hotels around Wooster Square, Chapel Street and Long Wharf are a similar short drive away, with I-95 close to the airport.

Yes. Book a return from your hotel, home or campus address to Tweed-New Haven Airport and give us your departure time. Airline counters open two hours before departure and checked bags must be tagged 45 minutes before, so your pickup is timed to leave room for check-in and security.
Tweed-New Haven Airport has one passenger terminal, on the west side of the airfield, used by both Avelo Airlines and Breeze Airways. All flights are domestic, so you go straight from the gate to baggage claim and out to the arrivals area without immigration or customs.
