Innsbruck Airport (INN), also called Kranebitten Airport, is on the floor of the Inn valley at the western edge of Innsbruck, with mountains on both sides. All flights use one small terminal with no jet bridges, so you leave the aircraft by stairs.
Flights from Austria and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks; from outside the Schengen area, including the UK, you go through passport control first. After baggage claim you walk through customs into the arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Austria is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 for daylight saving time from late March to late October. It uses the euro.
Schengen entry. Austria is in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers arriving from outside it are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Old Town streets. Innsbruck's Old Town is a pedestrian zone, so give your full address; your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
