Mérida International Airport (Manuel Crescencio Rejón, MID) sits inside the city, less than 5 km southwest of the historic center. All flights use one two-storey terminal: arrivals, immigration, customs and baggage claim are on the ground floor, and departures are upstairs, with 11 gates.
International passengers clear immigration, collect their bags and pass customs; domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim. The airport is open around the clock.
Mérida and the rest of Yucatán run on Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year, one hour behind Cancún.
Entry requirements and local notes
Haciendas and rural stays. Many haciendas and retreats sit on rural roads outside Mérida. Give the full property name, the nearest village and any access directions when you book.
Give the exact address in the city. The historic center's streets are numbered, with even numbers running north–south and odd numbers east–west; add the cross streets ("Calle 60 x 55 y 57") so the driver finds the door.
Ride offers at the terminal. Turn down unsolicited offers of transport inside or just outside the terminal and wait for the driver named in your confirmation.
Entry. International visitors need a valid passport. Carry some pesos for tips and small purchases.
