Airport Transportation in Philadelphia

Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Philadelphia International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.

After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.

Our Philadelphia airport transportation takes you from PHL to hotels in Center City, Old City and Rittenhouse Square, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the universities and hospitals of University City, and the stadiums in South Philadelphia. We also drive to King of Prussia, the Main Line, Wilmington, Cherry Hill and homes across South Jersey.

Philadelphia Airport Transfers

Your driver meets you outside baggage claim at your terminal, at the pickup zone for pre-booked cars named in your confirmation. We track your flight, so a delay moves the pickup instead of canceling it, and the price for the whole vehicle is fixed before you fly.

Philadelphia airport transfers run door to door in sedans, SUVs and vans: to hotels downtown, offices in University City, conventions, games at the South Philadelphia stadiums, and homes in the Pennsylvania suburbs, Delaware and New Jersey. Heading to Atlantic City, the Jersey Shore or Lancaster County? Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered.

Philadelphia Airport Shuttle

The Philadelphia airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a shared ride that stops at other hotels first. It has room for luggage and sports bags, and suits families, teams and groups heading to Center City, a convention or the suburbs.

Landing at Philadelphia Airport

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) sits on the Delaware River southwest of Center City. Its seven terminals, A-West, A-East and B to F, are joined in one line; American Airlines uses several of them, and Terminal F handles American Eagle regional flights.

International flights arrive at Terminal A-West, where you clear US passport control and customs before reaching the International Arrivals Hall. From there you take the elevator down and follow the signs to the A-East baggage claim and out to the Commercial Roadway. Domestic passengers collect their bags at their own terminal's baggage claim, with ground transportation in numbered zones just outside.

Philadelphia is on Eastern Time and changes its clocks for daylight saving time.

Entry requirements and local notes

Entry to the US. You need a valid passport and either a US visa or an approved ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program, obtained before you board. Global Entry and Mobile Passport Control can shorten the line at A-West.

Customs. Declare food, plants and animal products, and cash over $10,000.

Pickup zones. Rides at PHL leave from numbered zones outside baggage claim, and drivers may not solicit inside the terminal. Ignore offers of rides indoors and go to the zone in your confirmation.

Philadelphia, not Newark. If your ticket says EWR, you are landing at Newark near New York, not Philadelphia; see our Newark airport transportation page.

Philadelphia Airport Transportation FAQs

Where will my driver meet me at Philadelphia Airport?

Outside baggage claim at your terminal, at the pickup zone for pre-booked cars named in your confirmation. If you land on an international flight at Terminal A-West, follow the signs to the A-East baggage claim after customs.

How far is Philadelphia Airport from Center City?

PHL is about 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Center City, along I-95, and University City is a similar distance. King of Prussia and Wilmington are roughly 20 miles away and Cherry Hill about 15 miles, with drive times depending on traffic.

Can you take me to University City?

Yes. We drive to hotels, campuses and hospitals in University City, including the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel, and to 30th Street Station.

Can you take me to King of Prussia or the Main Line?

Yes. We drive to hotels, offices and homes in King of Prussia, the Main Line and the western suburbs. Give the full address when you book.

Do you go to Wilmington and South Jersey?

Yes. Wilmington and northern Delaware, Cherry Hill and the South Jersey suburbs are common drop-offs from PHL. Enter the exact address in the booking form to see the vehicles and price.

Can you take me to Atlantic City, the Jersey Shore or Lancaster County?

These are longer trips from Philadelphia. Enter your address in the booking form to see whether a transfer is offered; if it is not, contact us before you fly.

Which terminal will I arrive at in Philadelphia?

PHL has seven terminals, A-West to F. International flights arrive at A-West, American Airlines uses several terminals and American Eagle uses F, while Delta, United and Air Canada use D and Frontier and Southwest use E. Give your airline and flight number when you book.

Do you drive to vacation rentals and private homes?

Yes. Give the full street address, any apartment or unit number and entrance details. In Old City and Society Hill some streets are narrow, so your driver stops at the nearest point a vehicle can reach.

Can I book a pickup for a late-night or early-morning flight?

Yes. Pickups are booked for your flight's arrival or departure time, including late-night and early-morning flights, when trains run less often.

Should I take a ride from people offering transportation inside the terminal?

No. At PHL, rides leave only from the numbered zones outside baggage claim. If someone approaches you, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?

We monitor the flight on your reservation, so a delay moves the pickup instead of canceling it. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or the flight is canceled, contact customer service as soon as you know.

Can I book a ride back to Philadelphia Airport?

Yes. Add the return trip when you book, or book it later. Give your departure time, airline and terminal so the pickup leaves enough time for traffic on I-95, check-in and security.

I'm flying into Newark or New York. Is this the right page?

No. This page is for Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). For Newark (EWR), see our Newark airport transportation page, and our New York airports page compares JFK, LaGuardia and Newark.

Is Airport Transportation the same as Philadelphia International Airport?

No. Airport Transportation is a private transfer service that books rides from PHL; we are not the airport or its operator. For terminals, airlines and other ways to get around, see our Philadelphia airport page.
