Zürich Airport (ZRH) is in Kloten, just north of Zurich, and is Switzerland's largest airport and the hub of SWISS. All passengers check in and arrive in one landside building, while flights use Dock A for Schengen flights, Dock B for Schengen and non-Schengen flights, and Dock E for non-Schengen flights, reached by the Skymetro underground train.
If you arrive from outside the Schengen area, you go through passport control; flights from Schengen countries have no passport check. After collecting your bags and passing customs, you come out into the Arrival 1 or Arrival 2 hall, with the railway station directly below the building.
Zurich uses Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to summer time (UTC+2) from late March to late October.
Entry requirements and local notes
Entry rules. Switzerland is in the Schengen area, so flights from outside Schengen go through passport control. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation.
Swiss franc. The currency is the Swiss franc (CHF), not the euro, so plan to pay in francs or by card.
Winter in the Alps. Snow is common in the Alps from late autumn to spring. For a ski trip, give the full resort address and tell us about skis or snowboards when you book.
Arrival 1 or Arrival 2. Arrivals come out into two separate halls. Add your flight number to the booking so your driver waits in the right one.
