Terminal 1
The original terminal, renovated in 2016–2017. It mainly serves international low-cost and charter flights.
También conocido como: Belgrade Airport, BEG Airport, Nikola Tesla Airport, Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport Serbia.

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) serves Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and is the country's main international airport. It is the hub of Air Serbia, which flies to most European capitals and to New York, Chicago, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Tbilisi.
Other airlines include Wizz Air, with a base here and flights across Europe, plus Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, flydubai, KLM, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, LOT, Aegean Airlines, easyJet, Pegasus Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
The airport has two connected passenger terminals: Terminal 2 handles most international traffic, including Air Serbia, while the older Terminal 1 mainly serves low-cost and charter airlines. It sits near Surčin, about 18 km west of downtown Belgrade, next to the A3 motorway, and the A1 minibus reaches Slavija Square in about 30 minutes.
From the airport, travelers head to central Belgrade and the old town around Knez Mihailova Street, New Belgrade, Zemun, Novi Sad and Zlatibor.

After landing, you go through Serbian passport control; Serbia is not part of the EU or Schengen area, and citizens of the EU, US, UK, Canada, Australia and many other countries can visit without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, with EU citizens able to enter on a national ID card.
Next you collect your bags in the baggage hall and pass through customs into the arrivals hall.
For a taxi, buy a fixed-price voucher at one of the e-kiosks, three in the baggage claim area and one near the arrivals exit, then hand it to the first driver at the official taxi rank outside. Ignore drivers who offer rides inside the terminal. If you booked a driver, look for your name sign in the arrivals hall. The A1 minibus stop is just outside the arrivals exit.
Belgrade has hot summers and cold winters. Serbia uses Central European Time (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer), and the currency is the Serbian dinar (RSD).
Most travelers take an official taxi with a fixed-price voucher or the A1 minibus to Slavija Square.
Buy a fixed-price voucher at an e-kiosk in baggage claim or near the exit, then take it to the official taxi rank outside arrivals. Fares are set by zone, which avoids meter disputes, but the voucher is needed before you reach the rank.
The A1 minibus leaves from just outside the arrivals exit about every 20 to 30 minutes and reaches Slavija Square in about 30 minutes. It is quick and direct, but space for large luggage is limited and it is paid in cash on board.
City bus 72 runs from the airport to Zeleni Venac in the city center in about 35 to 50 minutes, with night line 72N to Republic Square. It is slower and can be crowded, with no luggage racks.
Bus 600 links the airport with Beograd Centar railway station, useful for onward trains. It is a regular city bus, so it is less convenient with heavy bags.
CarGo, a local ride-hailing app, works in Belgrade with app-based pricing and trackable rides. You need mobile data to book and meet the driver.
A pre-booked driver tracks your flight and meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign. It needs booking ahead but suits late arrivals and trips beyond Belgrade.

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are joined by an indoor hallway, so you can walk between them without going outside.
Confirm your departure terminal on your booking or the airport screens before check-in, since airlines are split between the two buildings.

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is about 18 km west of downtown Belgrade. The A1 minibus reaches Slavija Square in about 30 minutes, while city bus 72 takes about 35 to 50 minutes to Zeleni Venac. By taxi or car, the airport connects to the city via the A3 motorway, so the drive is usually straightforward outside rush hour.
The airport is outside the city center, near the suburb of Surčin in the Belgrade metropolitan area. It sits about 18 km west of downtown Belgrade, beyond New Belgrade and Zemun. The A3 motorway runs next to the airport and leads directly toward New Belgrade and the center, and the motorway sections to downtown are toll-free.
Belgrade airport has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, joined by an indoor hallway. Terminal 2, opened in 1979, handles most international traffic, including Air Serbia. Terminal 1, the original building renovated in 2016 and 2017, mainly serves low-cost and charter airlines. You can walk between them without going outside.
Air Serbia, the national carrier, operates its Belgrade hub from Terminal 2, which handles most international traffic and houses the transfer desks. Low-cost and charter airlines mainly use Terminal 1. Because the two terminals are connected indoors, it is easy to move between them, but check your booking or the airport screens to confirm your terminal.
Air Serbia is the largest airline at Belgrade, flying across Europe and to New York, Chicago, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Wizz Air has a base at the airport with many European routes. Other airlines include Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, flydubai, KLM, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, LOT, Aegean Airlines, easyJet, Pegasus Airlines, AJet, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
Belgrade airport uses fixed-price taxi vouchers. Buy one at an e-kiosk, three are in the baggage claim area and one is near the arrivals exit, choosing the zone for your destination. Then take the voucher to the official taxi rank outside the terminal and hand it to the first driver in line. Ignore anyone offering rides inside the arrivals hall.
Yes. The A1 minibus runs from just outside the arrivals exit to Slavija Square about every 20 to 30 minutes, taking about 30 minutes, and is paid in cash on board. City bus 72 goes to Zeleni Venac, night bus 72N to Republic Square, and bus 600 to Beograd Centar railway station. City buses are slower and have little luggage space.
Yes, CarGo is a local ride-hailing app that works in Belgrade, with app-based pricing and rides you can track. You need mobile data to request a car and contact your driver, so consider buying a local SIM or using roaming. The official taxi voucher system is the main alternative if you prefer not to use an app.
Citizens of EU countries, the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and many other countries can visit Serbia without a visa for stays of up to 90 days. EU, Swiss, Norwegian and Icelandic citizens can enter with a national ID card. Serbia is not part of the EU or the Schengen area, so it has its own entry rules and border checks.
Novi Sad lies north of Belgrade, and the airport has no direct public transport to the city. One option is bus 600 to Beograd Centar railway station and then a train to Novi Sad. Otherwise, a taxi or pre-booked transfer drives you directly by motorway, which avoids changes with luggage but requires arranging the ride in advance.
Belgrade uses Central European Time, UTC+1, and moves to UTC+2 for daylight saving time in summer. The currency is the Serbian dinar (RSD), and you will need dinars in cash for the A1 minibus. Belgrade has a continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters, so check the forecast and pack accordingly.
Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has been operated by VINCI Airports since 2018 under a 25-year concession. It handled about 8.9 million passengers in 2025, up 6.5% on the previous year, with almost 90,000 commercial flights. Air Serbia is the main airline, and a terminal expansion adding three gates and boarding bridges began in late 2025.
