Sobre Václav Havel Airport Prague

Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) is the main international airport of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It handled about 17.75 million passengers in 2025, when 84 airlines served 194 destinations.

Smartwings, which has its hub here, flies to Spain, Greece, Egypt, the Canary Islands and many other leisure and city destinations. Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air and Eurowings run large low-cost networks, while Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, British Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Korean Air connect Prague to their hubs. Seasonal flights link the city with New York and Toronto.

Passengers use two terminals: Terminal 1 for flights outside the Schengen Area and Terminal 2 for Schengen flights, joined by a connecting building. The airport lies in the Ruzyně district on the northwestern edge of Prague, about 18 km from the city center.

Most arriving travelers head to Prague's Old Town, Malá Strana and the castle district. Popular onward trips include Kutná Hora, Karlovy Vary and Český Krumlov.

Consejos de llegada a Václav Havel Airport Prague

If you arrive on a flight from outside the Schengen Area, you land at Terminal 1 and go through passport control, where the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) records fingerprints and a facial photo of non-EU visitors on short stays, and the planned ETIAS travel authorization was not yet in operation as of October 2026. Schengen flights use Terminal 2, where most passengers have no passport check.

Collect your bags in the baggage hall of your terminal and walk out into the public arrivals hall. The two halls are separate but joined by a connecting building.

Uber Airport is the airport's official taxi service: order it in the Uber app, at a self-service kiosk or at the service counter, then meet the car at the pick-up points in front of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 arrivals halls. Use this service rather than drivers who approach you in the hall. Bus and trolleybus stops are directly outside both terminals, and you need a ticket before boarding; ticket machines accept contactless cards. Pre-booked drivers wait in the arrivals hall of your terminal.

Prague uses Central European Time (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer), and the currency is the Czech koruna (CZK), not the euro.

Transporte terrestre

Trolleybus 59 to the metro is the fastest public route into central Prague for most travelers, while taxis and private transfers suit heavy luggage and late arrivals.

  • Trolleybus 59 to the metro

Trolleybus 59 leaves from the stops in front of both terminals and reaches Nádraží Veleslavín on metro line A in about 15 to 17 minutes. You then change to the metro, which is a step to manage with heavy bags.

  • Bus 100 to Zličín

Bus 100 runs to Zličín on metro line B in about 18 minutes. It suits destinations along line B, but also needs a change to the metro.

  • AE Airport Express to the main station

The AE bus runs from Terminal 1 to Praha hlavní nádraží, the main railway station, in about 40 minutes, daily from 5:30 to 22:00 every 20 to 30 minutes. It does not stop at Terminal 2.

  • Night buses

Night lines 907 and 910 run from the airport to the city center in about 40 to 45 minutes. They are the only public option late at night and run less often than day lines.

  • Taxi from Prague airport

Uber Airport is the airport's official taxi service, ordered in the app, at kiosks or at the service counter, with pick-up in front of both arrivals halls. Roadworks at the Aviatická intersection can cause rush-hour delays.

  • Private transfer

A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall of your terminal and drives you to your address. It is the simplest option for trips to Kutná Hora, Karlovy Vary or Český Krumlov, but must be arranged in advance.

City bus and trolleybus stops are directly in front of the arrivals halls of both terminals. Trolleybus 59 serves both terminals on its way to the metro at Nádraží Veleslavín.

How do I get a taxi at Prague airport?

Prague Airport's official taxi service is Uber Airport. You can order it in the Uber app, at a self-service kiosk or at the service counter, which is staffed daily from 7:00 to 21:00. You receive a six-digit PIN to give the driver, and pick-up points are directly in front of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 arrivals halls.
