Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) is located in Vieux Fort, at the southern tip of St. Lucia. It’s the larger of the island’s two airports and serves as the primary hub for international travelers. The airport is modest but modern, with basic amenities, duty-free shops, car rental desks, and a newly expanding terminal aimed at enhancing passenger comfort. Immigration and customs can be busy, especially when several flights arrive simultaneously, so patience is key.
Despite its size, UVF is well organized and generally efficient. Friendly airport staff and helpful signage make it relatively easy to navigate, especially for first-time visitors. However, ground transportation from UVF is crucial, as many of the island’s top destinations are a 1–2 hour drive away.
