These are the new items you can travel with on a plane

TSA Transportation Security Administration

Recent changes in airport security regulations in the United States, particularly regarding the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) new policies on carrying liquids in carry-on luggage. Previously, passengers were limited to carrying liquids in containers of up to 100 milliliters. However, with the introduction of advanced computed tomography (CT) scanners, the TSA has begun to allow certain liquids to exceed this limit without the need for special packaging.

New CT scanners at Airports

The new CT scanners provide 3D imaging capabilities, enabling security personnel to inspect the contents of containers without opening them. This advancement has led to the approval of at least 11 types of liquids that can now be transported in larger quantities. These include over-the-counter medications, prescription liquids, medically necessary gels, baby food and formula, live fish, biological specimens, and certain sealed duty-free items.

It’s important to note that this change is being implemented gradually and is currently operational at major U.S. airports such as those in Atlanta, New York (JFK), and Los Angeles. Travelers are advised to check the specific regulations of their departure airport or consult the TSA’s official site or app for the most up-to-date information on permitted items.
