Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) is at Seawell in Christ Church, near the southern tip of Barbados, and is run by GAIA Inc. Arrivals and departures use separate buildings side by side; every arriving flight comes into the Arrivals Terminal.
Inside, you go through immigration, collect your bags from one of five carousels and pass through customs before reaching the arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers. A duty-free shop sells liquor and perfume in the hall before customs.
Barbados is on Atlantic Standard Time (UTC-4) all year, with no daylight saving time. It uses the Barbados dollar, tied to the US dollar at two to one, and traffic drives on the left.
Online immigration and customs form. Every arriving passenger must complete the form at travelform.gov.bb before landing; it can be submitted up to 72 hours ahead, and the government asks for it at least 24 hours before travel.
Passport and return ticket. Visitors from the US, Canada, the UK and many other countries need no visa for a holiday, but you need a passport valid for your stay and proof of an onward or return flight.
No camouflage. Camouflage clothing and items are illegal in Barbados, including for visitors.
Duty-free and declarations. Barbados has strict customs rules: declare anything that may be prohibited, taxed or dutiable on the online form and at the customs desk.
