Bergen Airport, Flesland (BGO) is at Flesland, south-west of Bergen, and Avinor runs it. Passengers use one terminal: check-in and security are in the extension opened in 2017, gate B handles domestic flights and gates C to F international and domestic ones.
Flights from Norway and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks; from outside the Schengen area, including the UK, you go through passport control. Domestic and international flights have separate baggage claim areas, and international arrivals then pass customs before the arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers.
Norway is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 for daylight saving time from late March to late October. It uses the Norwegian krone.
Schengen entry. Norway is in the Schengen area but not the EU. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Customs allowances. Norway is outside the EU customs union, so its alcohol and tobacco limits apply even on flights from EU countries. Use the red channel if you carry more than the allowance.
Pedestrian streets. Parts of the center, including the lanes behind Bryggen and around Torgallmenningen, are pedestrian or closed to general traffic, so give your full address; your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Krone and cards. Norway uses the Norwegian krone, and cards and contactless payments are accepted almost everywhere, so you rarely need cash.
