Da Nang International Airport (DAD) has two terminals side by side, linked by a covered walkway: Terminal 1 for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international flights.
In Terminal 2, immigration is on the ground floor, with a Visa on Arrival counter for travelers holding an approval letter. Baggage claim follows, with free baggage carts and an oversized claim area next to carousel 4, then customs and the public arrivals area, where pre-booked drivers wait. SIM card counters are in baggage claim, and exchange counters and ATMs are in arrivals.
Vietnam is on Indochina Time (UTC+7) all year, with no daylight saving time, and uses the Vietnamese dong.
E-visa or exemption. Most travelers need a Vietnamese e-visa, open to all nationalities for stays of up to 90 days; apply only through the official government portal. Citizens of some countries, including several in Europe and Asia, can enter visa-free for a limited stay, so check the current rules for your passport.
Passport validity. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from arrival, with at least one blank page.
Hoi An Ancient Town. Cars cannot enter the walking streets of the Ancient Town, so give your hotel's full address; your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Guest registration. Hotels, homestays and vacation rental hosts must register foreign guests with the local police, so keep your passport handy when you check in.
