Dalaman Airport (DLM) stands just south of Dalaman town in Muğla province, between Fethiye and Marmaris. It has two terminals a short walk apart: international flights use Terminal 2, opened in 2018, and domestic flights use Terminal 1, though some domestic airlines also use Terminal 2.
On an international flight you go first to passport control, where your passport and any e-Visa are checked, then to baggage claim, which has a duty-free shop for arriving passengers. After customs you walk out through the arrivals exit, where tour representatives and pre-booked drivers wait with name signs. In summer, several charter flights often land close together, so lines at passport control can build up.
Turkey is on UTC+3 all year, with no daylight saving time change, and uses the Turkish lira.
Entry requirements and local notes
Visa or e-Visa. UK, US, Canadian and most EU citizens enter Turkey visa-free for short tourist stays. Other nationalities may need an e-Visa from the official site, evisa.gov.tr, before flying; check the rules for your passport.
Passport validity. The UK government advises that your passport be valid for at least 150 days from the day you arrive in Turkey. Check your expiry date before you travel.
Antiques and souvenirs. Taking antiquities out of Turkey is illegal. Keep the receipt and any certificate for carpets or old-looking items you buy, as customs can ask for them when you leave.
Marinas and yachts. If you are joining a gulet or charter yacht in Göcek, Fethiye or Marmaris, give the marina name and the boat's name when you book, so your driver takes you to the right pier.
