César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport (ACE), also called Lanzarote or Arrecife Airport, is on the island's south coast in San Bartolomé, and Aena runs it. It has two terminals side by side: Terminal 1 for international and mainland Spanish flights, and Terminal 2 for inter-island flights from the other Canary Islands.
Flights from Spain and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks; from outside the Schengen area, including the UK and Ireland, you line up at passport control in Terminal 1. After baggage claim you pass the customs channels into the arrivals hall on Floor 0, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers and the tourist information office and car rental desks are.
The Canary Islands are on Western European Time (UTC+0, UTC+1 from late March to late October), one hour behind mainland Spain. Spain uses the euro.
Entry requirements and local notes
Schengen entry. Lanzarote is part of Spain and the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers arriving from outside it are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) at passport control. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Duty-free limits. The Canary Islands are outside the EU VAT and customs area, so duty-free allowances on tobacco, alcohol and other goods apply on arrival and when you fly home, even to mainland Spain.
Check your terminal. Inter-island flights from Gran Canaria, Tenerife and the other islands use Terminal 2, not Terminal 1. Give your flight number when you book so your driver waits at the right exit.
Canary time. The islands are one hour behind mainland Spain, so give your pickup and flight times in local Canary time.
