Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is the airport for Málaga and the Costa del Sol in Andalusia, southwest of the city, between Málaga and Torremolinos. Two terminals are in use: Terminal 3, the main terminal, where most flights arrive, and Terminal 2, the Pablo Ruiz Picasso terminal, which is connected to it. The old Terminal 1 is closed to the public.
Flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, as many passengers here do from the UK and Ireland, you queue at passport control, and queues can be long in summer when several UK flights land together. After baggage claim you come out into the Terminal 3 arrivals hall, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers, so give your arrival terminal when you book.
Spain is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 for daylight saving time from late March to late October. It uses the euro.
Schengen entry. Spain is in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Villa addresses. Many villas around Marbella, Mijas and Benahavís sit in hillside developments with gates and winding roads, so give the development name, street, house number, any gate code and a map pin when you book.
Summer arrivals. Passport queues for UK and other non-Schengen flights are longest in summer; we follow your flight, so there is no need to rush.
Euro and cards. Spain uses the euro, and cards and contactless payments are widely accepted.

Yes. Cercanías trains leave from the station under Terminal 3, one way to Málaga city and the other way to Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola. A private transfer is easier with luggage and for Marbella, Estepona, Nerja and villas, which the train does not reach.
