Carrasco General Cesáreo L. Berisso International Airport (MVD), usually called Carrasco International Airport, is Montevideo's airport and Uruguay's main international gateway. It sits in Ciudad de la Costa, in the department of Canelones, next to Montevideo's eastern Carrasco neighborhood and beside the start of the Ruta Interbalnearia to the coast.
All flights use one terminal, opened in 2009, with arrivals and departures on separate floors. You clear immigration, collect your bags (trolleys are available in the baggage hall) and pass customs before entering the ground-floor arrivals hall, where a 24-hour exchange office and the airport information desk are located.
Uruguay stays on UTC−3 all year and does not use daylight saving time.
