Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) is the main airport of Nassau and The Bahamas, on the western side of New Providence island. It has three terminals within walking distance of each other: the International Arrivals Terminal, the U.S. Departures Terminal and the International & Domestic Departures Terminal.
All international flights, including those from the United States, arrive at the International Arrivals Terminal. Bahamas Immigration is your first stop, then you collect your bags and pass through Bahamas Customs. Flights from the Family Islands arrive on the lower level of the International & Domestic Departures Terminal.
Nassau is on Eastern Time (UTC-5) and moves to UTC-4 for daylight saving time from March to November.
Entry documents. You need a valid passport and the paper immigration and customs forms. The Bahamas Travel Health Visa was eliminated in June 2022, and a digital arrival card is being piloted on selected flights alongside the paper forms.
Customs declarations. Declare food, plants and other restricted items at Bahamas Customs to avoid delays on arrival.
US preclearance on the way home. Flights to the United States leave from the U.S. Departures Terminal, where you clear US immigration and customs before boarding, so allow extra time for that step when you plan your ride back.
Bahamian dollar. The Bahamian dollar is at par with the US dollar, and US dollars are accepted throughout Nassau.

Lynden Pindling International Airport is about 14 km (8.7 miles) west of downtown Nassau, roughly 20 minutes by road without traffic. Paradise Island is about 14 miles from the airport, roughly 25 to 30 minutes, and traffic near downtown can add time.
